How to install PHPMyAdmin on CentOS 6 (for LAMP)

I.Preparation

To Install Remi repository get reference link here click here

Make sure Apache , PHP and MySQL have been installed in the server

II.Proceeding

Step 1: Install phpMyAdmin

# yum install phpMyAdmin -y

 

Step 2: Configure phpMyAdmin

phpMyAdmin by default just allows access from localhost  . If you want to allow remote access to your computer, you need to change /etc/httpd/conf.d/phpMyAdmin.conf and all 127.0.0.1 into the client server's IP that you allow

# nano /etc/httpd/conf.d/phpMyAdmin.conf

<IfModule mod_authz_core.c>
     # Apache 2.4
     Require local
   </IfModule>
   <IfModule !mod_authz_core.c>
     # Apache 2.2
     Order Deny,Allow
     Deny from All
     Allow from 
127.0.0.1(Change it into your IP)
     Allow from ::1
   </IfModule>
</Directory>

<Directory /usr/share/phpMyAdmin/setup/>
   <IfModule mod_authz_core.c>
     # Apache 2.4
     Require local
   </IfModule>
   <IfModule !mod_authz_core.c>
     # Apache 2.2
     Order Deny,Allow
     Deny from All
     Allow from 
127.0.0.1 (change it into your IP)
     Allow from ::1
   </IfModule>
</Directory>

 

After updating configuration files of phpMyAdmin , restart the Apache service to re-download new settings
# service httpd restart

Step 3 : Visit phpMyAdmin on your browser 

Now you can visit phpMyAdmin on your browser, using VPS IP

Login  : user name and password to use MySQL .
